Will SRT vote?

Just wondering if any of our cricketers who are idolized and put on a pedestal, are going to request permission to come back and vote? After the hue and cry over Dhoni's name on the rolls, I wonder if any of them are planning to fly back to cast their vote?

RS,

If they want to vote they do not have to come back. Either, they can cast their vote by going to the Indian embassy or they can cast it via post.(Postal vote).

ottayan - is that correct? I thought postal ballots were for the armed forces and similar areas only...

I did not think that NRIs had right to vote as yet. Perhaps resident Indians who are travelling do? I doubt the team is aware of it. But then there should be no excuse not to vote?

And here is a link where I am not sure if they are allowed to vote in either fashion.

RS,

I am unsure where NRI's stand with respect to voting, but I am reasonably sure that Indians working abroad or even traveling can vote provided they can ask for that facility before hand.write to the embassy or some such thing.)

I thought I would do more research on this, but figured I should spend my time making sure my name was on the rolls and I go to the right place to vote :)
