What a match

Yes the Federer-Nadal one. I watched it till the wee hours of the morning, managing to last nearly 5 hours of the match plus the rain delays. The quality of tennis was exemplary, there are so many points I remember. No wonder, no other tennis player comes close to them - the quality of tennis they have to play to beat either of them consistently is unbelievable. Both of them were gracious in their defeat and victory - alas a extraordinary string of victories comes to an end for Federer and maybe a new one starts for Nadal.

BTW, I was 0-3 for the weekend, everyone I was supporting lost :-(

0-3? You seemed to have the 'midas' touch.

Midas is with MSD only. But I considered supporting Rafa midway to see if might turn the tide :-)

This was the worst loss ever. I am so depressed - as though the french open loss was not enough. Friends keep calling me and reminding me that Fed lost - the same guys who rarely call otherwise.

Oh well, here's hoping for a strong Fedex comeback starting from the Olympics.

@elakaivan

I felt a pang when he lifted the 'plate' instead of the 'cup'. But people will talk about this match for years to come.

I didn't see it - having given up after the tame first 2 sets. But now I wish I had hearing reports of the match. Though, of course, given my close association with Murphy, it would have then finished in a tame straight sets victory. So you know whose slumber to thank for a classic Wimbledon.

@ks - thanks for sleeping and giving Murphy a break :-)
